Frederick County Volunteer Fire and Rescue Services wants YOU!
The Frederick County Fire & Rescue Services Work-Based Internship Program is offered to high school juniors and seniors by Frederick County Volunteer Fire & Rescue Services.
If you have or know of anyone that's interested in getting some great training, obtain life skills and are either a company volunteer member in need of classes or a High School student at least 16 years of age, please enroll in this program. Not a member, we will assist you in becoming a volunteer member. We have companies that will support you through this program.
To learn how to become a volunteer member, visit www.GearUpFireRescue.com.
Once you become a member of a volunteer of a fire/rescue service you must pass a Frederick County Fire Department (NFPA 1582) physical and respirator fit test.
Students will be responsible for their own transportation to and from the Frederick County Public Safety Training Facility.
Students that are under the age of 18 are required to receive permission from their High School Work – Based Learning Coordinator and/or fire/rescue company chief.
Classes will be held Monday thru Friday at the Public Safety Training Facility from 12:00 pm to 3:00pm. The program will follow the Frederick County Public School calendar to accommodate for holidays and school closings.
Application forms can be found using the website links in this paragraph: https://www.fcvfra.com OR https://www.frederickcountymd.gov/5540/Fire-and-Rescue-Training.
